Irony can be intelligent, perceptive and witty. Sarcasm rarely is. If you have caught a malarial sarcasm, how can it be treated? There may be no cure, but in this talk, there are a few suggestions on how we can tackle the symptoms.

Mike Collier is a British‑born writer and a journalist who has lived in Latvia since 2007. He is the chief editor of the English‑language edition of Latvia’s public broadcasting website. Mike writes about the Baltic states and has produced three books of fiction.
